On July 19 the first Holi colors festival was held in Dnepropetrovsk. The Ukrainians borrowed the idea of the bright holiday from India where color therapy was already known in the ancient times. Throwing at each other special loose paint from natural herbs is an Indian tradition, which raises the spirits and the immunity. ThePeople visited Ukrainian Holi making a vain effort not to get dirty.
The Shevchenko Park is the most popular place in Kiev. One of the park’s zests is a ground with tables where the chess players, domino, backgammon and other board games lovers compete 24/7. The People had courage to interrupt several players to talk about their hobby.
Every Kiev district is known for its unique style: there are different moods that are created by buildings, places and, of course, people. The People stopped for a while to watch the Kievans walking or hurrying, or waiting for sometone near the Lva Tostogo metro station. We have learned their worries and tried to understand, which mood they bring to this place.
In the 70's the sport and the healthy way of life were in trend. Since that time besides park amusements and kebab houses there is a free open-air gym in Hydropark. All the body-builders are welded from tanks and tractors remains.
On June 9 all the trendsetters gathered in Vozdvizhenka district of Kiev. The People got to know who ate the burgers from Dima Borisov, listened to the music, took photos, had his or her hair done and, what is the most important, what Harik Korogodskyi, Anna Zavalskaya, Dasha Shi and the girls from 'Oh My Look!' project were selling, and who bought all this stuff.
On May 31 and June 1 the visitors of Feofania park celebrated the holiday of first strawberries. The ones willing to try strawberries were not even frightened by the rain. The People watched the concerts, master classes, fair and the guests themselves.
The aim of the photo project ‘I love Ukraine’ dedicated to the Children’s Day by the Internet journal The People is to acquaint the world with young Ukrainian generation that will become the new Ukraine in 20 years.
